'Taxable Non-Payments'

Hello

I'm sorry if I have posted this on the wrong board, I couldn't work out which one would be the best to post on, so I figured 'Employment' would be okay..

I have received my payslip in the post today. I have been with my employer around seven months and I work part time.

There is something called 'Lead Payments' - I cannot for the life of me work out what they are. In my "Payments" section (payments to me) there is my salary, performance related pay (it's that quarter of the year again!) and a 'Lead Payments' line of £22.44. This is included in my "Total Payments" summary, before my deductions.

There is another section on my payslip called "Taxable Non-Payments". It says "Lead Payments Charge £89.75". This figure has been added on to the pay I have received (gross pay) but not into my "Total Payments" summary (the pay I actually get) before any deductions. I do not understand what it is but I do understand that it is not in my "Total Payments" as it shows as in the 'Non Payments' section.

I am a little confused as to what a Lead Payment could be and why it is a "Non Payment". I do not receive any swish benefits like a company car or a meal voucher allowance or anything like that...

I'm sorry if I haven't explained that very well.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

  • Have you asked your employer? Your work colleagues may also know what these payments are for.
