Getting some compensation?

Hiya, Can anyone help. I bought a HP laptop from PC world in Feb 2007 for £1300 - now - just 2 days short of being 2 years old it's gone wrong. Not getting any joy from either party about getting it sorted as I would have expected it to last a lot longer seeing as I hardly use the thing. PC world were really quick to suggest that it needed another power source and motherboard - spent about 2 minutes looking at it the other day! Have tried all the pointers that the HP website have made still to no joy. Wondered if anyone thought it's be worth trying to get a refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act as we paid by credit card. Don't really fancy spending £300+ to get it fixed when it's like new and has only had about 300-400 hours worth of use out of it. Any suggestions or tips would be gratefully received.

  • A power supply is around £20-30 if that's all that has gone wrong.
If that doesn't fix it, then maybe look at larger costs?
