The Times today at certain London outlets (WHSmith, Sainsburys, Waitrose etc) comes with a free copy of the Penguin Film Classics book Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell in a plastic bag together with the paper.

This offer is for a different "Penguin Film Classics" book each day, has been running for two weeks but ends today (Friday 13th). If it's like last time they ran a similar Penguin books promotion last summer it'll only be in the London area and only from certain larger chains (Sainsburys, WHSmith, Waitrose and possibly others) so fairly limited unfortunately.

From what I can see from the relevant webpage it's not being published online any more.

Unfortunately my local Sainsburys didn't have any papers when I went past this morning, so I'm unable to confirm this or which book - if anybody can provide that info it would be most appreciated.

What I do know is that the offer is for a different "Penguin Film Classics" book each day, has been running for two weeks but ends today (Friday 13th). OK, I went past Sainsburys again and checked - the book is Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell.

It's worth a read, especially in these times...

Thanks again for posting, Jemma - most appreciated. Thanks to you, I don't have to rush out and by a paper to check my Sun Bingo numbers!:j

But I don't think that the England version of The Sun has the Lidl voucher. I've looked through it a couple of times and can't see it, but I AM the least observant person I know, so I could've missed it!:rotfl:
