How about a Black Dice. I'm no expert at 'cool' but I reckon these look pretty good.

Their website is www.blackdiceindustries.com or you can get them at www.creativewatch.co.uk/black-dice-watches.html or www.pricerunner.co.uk/f/349/Watches?search=black+dice&q=black+dice+watches&ref=redirect
  • Have a look at Amazon. I bought my husband a Nautilus watch recently with a 70% reduction. It looks the business and he is really pleased.
  • Thanks peeps,

I was thinking more argos lmao, sorry but i need to get it before saturday! i know i lefted it late, but hey its the thought that counts!! haha

I have no idea, ive been with him 12 years and i still dont know what he likes???

A lot of watch-nerds will say avoid but for a couple of hundred quid you won't get more stylish than a Boss/Armani in Silver.
    D & G etc a bit cheaper.

Goldsmiths are good and there's good cashback available usually at the very least.

The reason I say watch-nerds will dodge it is because the general concencus is that Armani/Boss is a clothing label and Tag/Breit etc are watches. That may be true but is it true to the tune of 10 x the price? Not for me.

You should only spend a lot [and I mean £****s] on a watch if you have a lot to spend.

DH has an Adidas watch that he loves to wear - it's a simple classic design, that was about £50 (in a sale) several years ago, and is still going strong and looking good. It's not a name he went looking for (in fact he normally avoids names like that) but you wouldn't know who it was by unless you got really close up.

I like Fossil myself - both the mens and womens ranges - but I only ever look at leather straps, so don't know if there would be anything there to suit your OHs taste.

  • If he's looking for something cool that's also going to last, I can really recommend Citizen's "Eco Drive" range. I used to work for H. Samuel the jeweler and they stocked them...suspect most highstreet jewelers will :).

The brilliant thing about the Echo Drive watches is that they don't require a battery - they run off solar power (the face of the watch acts as a solar panel). The fancier models also run off moonlight and artificial light, and once fully charged you can leave them in a drawer for up to 3 years and they'll keep going :)

They're really nifty watches and while not cheap (you're looking at around the £100 mark), they'll last you ages, plus you'll save on the cost of battery replacements! Seiko do "kinetic" watches, in which the mechanisms are powered by the movement of your wrist, but they're much more likely to go wrong because of the intricacy of the internal mechanisms and they'll be expensive to fix.

For me, it's Citizen all the way!
