What should i do??

Hi all again, was planning on going br as soon as i have the money but just wondering i am in the best position for this. Here is my circumstances...
i am married with 2 kids but as we have had to give our house up voluntry repo my wife and kids are now living with her parents and i am living with mine.
I am currently on ESA benefit which is £189 every 2 weeks. This is the only money i get. I have a job lined up and hopefully starting in next couple of weeks but its only 3 hours a day 6 days a week at minimum wage. Not sure yet if i will be able to get any extra benefits to top the wage up at all. I owe about 25-30k debt 1 loan, 3 credit cards and catalogue.
at the minute i pay them all £5 a month after geting advice from cccs. some are still not happy about it but i just keep paying them regardless.
Is now a good time to go br or should i wait till i get the job and have worked out what i am entitled to first. Could i go br while living at home with my parents and on benefits??
I hate been on benefits but i was told by the doctor i couldnt work and needed some time off. I still have a valid sick note but still going to take the job and sign myself off the sick. Hopefully there will be overtime available too, but will have to wait and see.
ANyway i have rambled on enough now so any advice on my situation as to when and if i can would be appreciated.
Many thanks to all you wonderful people on here where i have been browsing now for some months getting loads of answers to my questions.

  • If CCCS have concluded that BR is the best option you should contact them again. They have a dedicated Bankruptcy Support Team based in Birmingham, contact their helpline and ask for the number. That team will take specialist care of any questions you have.

Without a large disposable income you shouldn't face many consequences from BR as long as you don't have assets. Will BR affect your application for your job. In most cases it's irrelevant but worth checking out all the same before you sign off the sick.

Most employers don't ask but if you get a zero rated tax code the question may pop up. I work for an insolvency practioner in Leeds and just applied for a job at CCCS - they are very very busy but they will help you out.
  • Thanks for the reply and advice, it shouldnt affect the job but i was gonna fill out a soa and the first port stop me in my tracks as it askd for income and benefits etc etc, not sure yet what these will be untill i start the job. Also what do i put down for gas elec water etc etc, i dont live with my parents scot free, but i dont pay them a fixed amount either, i just pay for things when needed. Not looked at the br forms online yet but sure i would come across the same kind of questions so would it be best to wait?
