Developer training at no cost to you

Options
UK developers have told us that keeping their skills up to date is their number one concern in today's competitive workplace. But various barriers, such as finding the time for training and the cost involved, can prevent them from doing so. As a response, Microsoft is offering 400 free training spaces to developers based in the UK who are looking to upgrade their skills without incurring the costs. The training, delivered by InnerWorkings, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, provides a unique practice-based learning solution for .NET developers to gain new skills, at their own pace, by solving practical coding challenges.

We're offering three distinct training programmes in both C# and Visual Basic to cover most, if not all, areas of interest. Each programme contains a minimum of 18 hours free training. The first 400 UK developers to register for free training will be eligible to select from the following task based courses:*

Object-Oriented Design and Development with Visual Basic or C# 2005/2008
Gain the essential knowledge required to design and develop object-oriented programs with the .NET Framework.

Web Development with Visual Basic or C# 2005/2008
Learn the fundamentals of web development and go on to cover more advanced programming concepts for this platform, including security 'Drills' that help you implement secure solutions for your web applications.

Programming Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Silverlight using
Visual Basic or C# 2008
Master important features of WPF, including basic controls and layouts, styles and control templates, and data binding. Understand important managed code techniques in Silverlight 2.

How it Works
The InnerWorkings task-based system is best described as 'working in a sandbox' and enables you to:

Take .NET training that's 100 per cent practice-based
Gain skills by solving problems using key .NET techniques
Work at your own pace in a realistic learning environment
Get feedback as you learn from InnerWorkings' code-checking engine
Enjoy smart, engaging and effective .NET learning

And if you need help, it's right there - with links to useful articles and online books, as well as access to InnerWorkings' expert Personal Tutors for one-on-one mentoring to help complete your coding challenges.

There is no 'instruction' other than the essential information needed to solve a realistic coding challenge. You quickly research the key .NET techniques required, then... you're right into the code!

Sign up today - this offer is limited to the first 400 UK developers who
register for free training.

* Terms and conditions apply - see the registration page for details
