quick -ish help needed please

Its my OH 50th b'day on the 18th of this month, and i need some help with what "bits" make it special.
Our family are doing the whole meal, presents etc on the friday, but i don't want to just forget the actual day.
Also my ds is 5 and i could do with some ideas apart from a card that we could either buy or make for him.

My OH is a dr who nut and really into west ham, but not much else!

Can you make it a Dr Who-themed day? Don't know much about Dr Who TBH, so don't know if there's anything food related you could do for breakfast/dinner. I've seen Dr Who biscuit making kits complete with dalek-shaped cutter, could make some of them with ds. Use the cutter for sandwiches for lunch also, maybe?
Lots of Dr. Who cards in the shops if you don't fancy making one.

My browser won't let me copy and paste but there is a cake recipe on the internet that's called EXTERMINATION BY CHOCOLATE (it looks like a tardis) if you do a search I'm sure you'll find it. Looks fairly easy.

Could you decorate your living room/where you'll spend the day in the west ham colours? perhaps find a cheap bubble blowing machine (am i thinking of the right football club?!!)
