Changing Uni's

Hello all,
Here is the situation, I am currently studying at Middlesbrough Uni 1st year in a 3 year degree. Due to family circumstances I am moving back to Rochdale and have been accepted on the same course but at Lancashire Uni.
What do I do about applying for grants and loans?. I know that this is the time to do it.
In September I am starting from 1st year again (my choice). But having been at Boro uni for 5 months will it affect my final years grants etc?
When should I tell Boro Uni that I intend to quit studying with them?
Please help.

I think the first thing you need to do is speak to your LEA and the student loans company about finance and funding. They're likely to have a procedure and will be able to talk you through what you need to do and what you will be entitled to. The sooner you do this the better.
With regards to your current university, if you are 100% sure that you will not be transferring any credits you've already earned to your new course nor will need a reference from them then it probably doesn't matter from your point of view if you don't tell them yet. However if you are 100% sure that you are leaving then it's polite to let your current university know and it may mean they are able to accommodate someone else who'd like to transfer universities on to the course you are doing. You will then also be able to dicuss the possibility of transfering credits and get advice on finance from them.0 -
Thanks MrsManda.
I have received an email form Lancashire Uni saying that I still have to go through UCAS, even though I have an unconditional offer.grrrr....I was hoping that it would be as easy as a straight swap over.
I am deffo sure that I will not be transferring any credits as I have requested that I start again in year 1.0 -
Do you mean the University of Teesside?0
