Early Discharge - What does this mean?

Hi
I’ve just received a letter this morning saying I got early discharge as of 29th January 2009.
I got all excited but then realised I have no idea what this changes.
What can I know do that I couldn’t do before?
Also is it likely that partners get discharged close together as my partner hasn’t heard anything about getting discharged early.

It literally means you are discharged from your BR. You are no longer bound by the restrictions that it places on you and if you have no IPA you no longer have to tell the OR of any changes in income.
Unfortunatly because you have got ED it does not necessarily mean your OH will get one. Quite often we see on here that if one gets ED then the other goes full term.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
I got an early discharge and my husband reiceved his two weeks later even though we were made BR in the same court hearing, and owed about the same amount of money.0

So if I got a job I wouldn't have to tell them? (I have no IPA)
Can I now get a car (if I can save some money)0 -

What can I read that tells me all the do's and don'ts?0

If you are discharged then there is no do's or don'ts
, so no worries there.
For your OH have a read here.

OH got his letter yesterday.
If you were to come into money now £500 or £2000 would we then have to notify them?0 -

what if you have a IPO, would you have to notify them if you came into some money after discharge? say if your wages increased, unexpected bonus or lottery win? (i wish)0

Yes, if you are in an IPA/O then you still have to inform them of any change in circumstances until the 36 months has run it's course.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
