in Cutting tax
Hi,
Can anyone help?
I work full time during the week (38 hours) and am looking to get a part time weekend job which will be 10 hours over 2 days for some extra cash.
What will the situation be with regards to tax? Is Mr. Taxman going to take a big chunk and make it pointless?
Many thanks.

Asssuming you are within the 20% tax band then your second job will be taxed at BR which is 20% and NI will be 11% on amounts over £105 per week0

Thanks Clapton,
What if it is less than £100 a week?0 -
Less than £100 pw 20% tax, no NIC.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

The tax you pay will be exactly the same as that you would pay if you worked 48 hours a week in your current job.
NI is not quite so clear cut - you may pay less from the two jobs, when added together, compared with what you would pay if you worked 48 hours a week in your current job.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac
