tickets win - gutted!

came home to find a red card from the postie yesterday, by which time the sorting office was shut. got to the sorting office this morning and picked up two tickets to an nme shockwaves gig in camden... last night!
i'm gutted, it was to see ida maria which would have been fantastic. i do wonder what the point is of sending out tickets by special delivery the day before a gig - surely the chances are that the recipient is going to be out and have to go collect them later. if they'd just been sent ordinary first class i would have got them and could have gone.
i've searched for the original poster to thank them, but there are loads of nme/shockwave comps and i don't know which i got lucky on. but as always many thanks to the op and thanks to all who post. :beer:

i phoned the pr person who sent the tickets and said i was pleased and grateful but said that if you send tickets out the day before a gig by recorded delivery i imagine 9 out of 10 people won't get them in time because they'll be out, get a red card, and end up picking them up after the event. she just said she was sorry but even though they are the sponsors they only get the tickets at the last minute.
ah well, i suppose i'll just have to make sure i stop going out during the day so i never miss anything again.

Maybe to email the people who ran the comp rather than the pr person who sent them out.. saying blah blah how upset you are that you missed it etc.. its worth a try as they may send you our a copensation prize.. got nothing to loseBACK and READY..... waiting on Royal Mail!!!0
