Help - DMP Problem - payment not received by creditor?

Help!!!
I've been on my DMP with Payplan since May 08 and all has gone well. Until yesterday, when I got my Barclaycard statement with NO payment was received for last month. I checked my previous statement, payment received by BC on 11th Dec OK. I have checked Justabank, and the BC payment was cleared so BC should have had that around 11th Jan in plenty of time for the February statement.
I don't know what to do now. I don't want to phone BC so I suppose I ought to write to them. They want an increased payment for February but I'm concerned that a payment has gone astray. Littlewoods also think I've missed a payment but I think that's their billing system rather than anything wrong at my end.
I suppose I just want reassurance that everything isn't suddenly going to start going wrong really

Hi tishywish
Have you checked the date on the statement perhaps it was prepared before the payment actually reached barclaycard sometimes they do prepared statements early - worth double checking.
Otherwise give payplan a ring and inform them of whats happened and tell them that barclaycard are asking for an increase they will give you the right advice.
I wouldnt have thought you have anything to worry and it will probarbly work out to just be a glitch in the system somewhere along the line.
best wishes

Hi, I'm with CCCS and they pay out on 25th of the month. Over Xmas they paid early to clear the bank holidays and one of my creditors said I'd missed a payment since two fell on the statement before
I rang them to explain and they said the letter was a system error.
Don't forget that there were Xmas bank hols and then Jan bank hol too so maybe there was a delay in dealing with it or clearing it.
One other thing I did have was a catalogue claiming they hadn't received payments. CCCS confirmed to me that they had paid them and that it was sent as a bulk cheque (for all the DMP payments to that creditor) and gave me reference details. Eventually the catalogue located the payments that had gone "missing" - they had them all along but hadn't allocated them to my account.
So don't panic, somewhere down the line there might be administration/system issues. Best to ring payplan first.
Don't pay them any extra - check with payplan that they definitely had the money - then let them know they've had payment and need to find what they've done with it

Hi
I wouldn't contact BC. Contact Payplan instead to see if the payment might have gone late to BC. I would also tell them BC are asking for increased payments. Payplan should write to them to say you are not in a position to increase payments at this stage.DFW Nerd no: 149

Barclaycard are very bad for this - Payplan take my money on the 1st each month and distribute on or around the 8th - this means that it appears on all my creditors statements on or around the 10th. Except Barclaycard - when often it does not appears on the statement until the 21st, with statement date being the 18th. I have no idea why they take so long. Some months they process it so that it goes through in time, and other months it doesn't appear at all and next month there are 2 payments !
It has never caused an issue, though - they register the same each month on my credit report and have never contacted me about it, just a polite notice on the statement, and it has always sorted itself out - so I don't think you need to worry, although you could just phone them to ask if they have had January's payment just to put your mind at rest[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0 -

Just playing devil's advocate here.....
Sometimes you have to bare in mind that a company may have 1000's of people on DMP's, and it can probably take a while to allocate the funds to the right accounts when they are sent a 'bulk' cheque.
We've had this a few times with Barclaycard, but the worst for us was Next. Every 6 months they'd say they haven't received a payment, except they had. Because of dates of statements and payments (from CCCS) it'd miss one month and slip into the next. Thankfully they've passed the debt onto someone else now.0 -
Thanks for all the replies. I checked my last few statements and they all show a payment as being received around the 7th of the preceding month, so I've written to BC and Payplan about it. Fingers crossed they sort it out quickly!LBM: March 2008DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 1980
