Can recommend White Knight. Think Argos sell them. Best of luck.

is this still true? I know I was told this about ten years ago but our drier went kaput this morning and we have seen a machine with the features we want at a reasonable price but it's a sodding hotpoint! OH wants to go for it, I'm not so sure!

  • I'm not clued up on dryers but I've just ordered myself a new washing machine and found a good price comparison website called www.whiteboxdeals.co.uk . It shows you the prices of various websites and any discount codes it knows about. Plus you can sort prices including the delivery charges which is helpful. I've gone for an LG from Laskys using whiteboxdeals' voucher code for £7 off.

this is our experience, we bought a new kitchen 5 years ago, got all new hotpoint appliances, dishwasher, washer and fridge. in the first 3 years we had 3 dishwashers, two replaced by the comet after they both went wrong in the first 6 of us having them, the 3rd went out of warranty. The washer went wrong twice in the first year and then sheered bolts just out of warranty and hotpoint said it wouldnt cover them as it was out of warranty even though I argued that bolts shouldnt sheer. Then rather madly but mainly through cost 2.5 years ago we bought a Hotpoint tumble drier nothing but problems and it takes ages to dry even the smallest amount of cloths. When the third dishwasher gave up and we had paid to have it fixed that was the last straw and we bought a Siemens, more money slightly but better warranty and so far it must be nearly 2 years and not a problem.

Wouldnt touch hotpoint they are the same company as indesit and even if their products were good their customer service is terrible
