My OR - He doesn't sound friendly!

Just spoken to my OR and  he sounded really miserable, I knew we wouldn't get anyone nice, we'll probably get scrutinized right down to the last pence too.

He wants a copy of my car finance and got quite snotty about that too. He said "You didn't submit it with your SOA", to be honest I didn't know I had to and thought that he would get all the papers when I had my meeting with him

Oh the joy of things to come!!!

yeah i think he is having a grumpy day and for most its pointless taking any paperwork along with your court papers as you dont see the OR. They normally ask for you to send everything to them in the post.

    Reevesie,
    Hi....
What you musn't do is meet like with like and take on a miserable or sharp tone with him. It is always difficult over the phone to get a real feel of how or who someone really is - try not to pre judge.
Quite a few people on here recently have said that the OR person has started off a bit shirty to start with but then softened up during the phone call.
Try not to rattle his cage and stay upbeat and helpful (without the waffle)
he just may turn into a sweetie......
    Good Luck

  • Fingers crossed SA.

I was polite to him, called him Mr X and kept a bright tone to my voice. Im having a face to face meeting as I prefer this than over the telephone, so hopefully as you say he will be a nice friendlier then. But I know that after all he does have a job to do.
  • At least he sounds thorough - I never trust friendly people anyway!!! I am sure he will be better when you met him in person.

TBH mine was the same had a quick call to him the day of my BR then had to attend the office the same day later....he was a really nice guy not judgemental didnt look down at me just wore jeans & a sweater a normal everyday person like me & you....at one point we even had a laugh about something

I'd prefer a face to face interview over a telephone one any day.....

  • Sorry to hijack the post but can you request a face to face interview rather than a telephone interview? Think i would prefer this

    Hi

All of the people that dealt with us were very nice, but I know from reading on here some people have had to deal with, lets call them difficult people. I once had a piece of advice which was if anyone is rude or abrupt then kill them with kindness. It works.

A huge percentage have not been BR before so we have to learn as we go, sometimes the OR's forget this and expect it all run spit spot. At least on here you will find support and hopefully find all the information you will need.

    Good Luck
