Cheapest way to convert Euros back to pounds?

My partner has been given a lump sum of several hundred Euros by her family as a gift. What is the cheapest way for her to convert them to pounds? I know that the Post Office buy foreign currency without commission but I also know that their exchange rate might not be as competitive. Should she simply go to her bank (HSBC) and deposit it, or would the Post Office, Travelex or similar get her more pounds for her Euros? Can anyone help?
