Toshiba 42" Full HD TV £499 at argos

Just had e-mail from argos with their latest offers including THIS TV for £499 which seems a really good price for a full HD TV.

Pity I don't have a spare £500 but some of you might!

    Its only 40" not 42"
  • I can't decide between these 2 TV's, my living room isn't that big so 42" is maybe a bit big but then we all know what folk say about size!
Does the extra ratio on the 40" one really make a big difference?

Also a pity dont get a warranty as part of either TV (well except 1 year on the Comet one)

As a side question would home insurance not cover TV's breaking?
  • anyone know if this is 100hz??
    is officially a GLEEK
  • the higher the contrast ratio the better the quality of picture. The 1080i and 1080p are not in use yet so at this point in time are just something to look forward to but it won't affect the quality. 100Hz is of benefit as it means the image on screen is being refreshed 100 times a second which is ideal for sports fans where fast movement is normal. For top quality picture get a plasma tv. Currently LG are very good value for money whoever you buy from.

1080i is broadcast on HD Sky and Freesat.

1080p is Blu-Ray/HD-DVD and XBOX360/PS3 Games consoles, so both formats are already in use.
  • Being critical doesn't help the original posters questions. This doesn't help anyone and doesn't make you appear clever at all when it is done this way. expletive expletive!!!!!
  • Hey, calm down!! I don't think shimrod was being critical, just rightly correcting you.
