No optical zoom on this model - I really wouldn't recommend it. There are models on sale with at least 3x optical zoom with comparable image quality to the Sony.

Just a quick review of this camera.

We bought this about 2 months ago and have found it to be pretty good for the money and comparatively as good against "better" cameras.

We took it to the Maldives with us and have some stunning pictures taken with it. It's really small and simple to use. I'm very into my gadgets and wanted to spend £250+ to get a flash camera, but got this on a whim instead and wasn't dissapointed.

For your average punter this camera will be great. The lack of optical zoom is not really noticeable, unless you're taking photo's of something quite a distance away.

Buy it and try it - you can always put it on ebay if you don't like it!
