A friend has to fly to scotland for a university interview, she has however to take her art portfolio, in her art folder. Its not heavy just bulky at 88 by 66 cm. Does anybody have any prior experience of carrying bulky items on flights??
Thanks

Your father pedals car telephones at a 300 percent markup. Your mother works on heavy commission at a camera store. Graduated to it from espresso machines. Hah!

From easyjet site:
Baggage Allowances
Each passenger is usually permitted
one standard piece of hand baggage to maximum dimensions of 55x40x20cm, and
a free allowance of standard checked-in hold baggage to a maximum weight of 20kgs
From personal experience, if the hand baggage doesnt fit their measuring thing then it has to be checked in.
I did hear on the news that they will be charging £5 for every piece of checked in baggage but I dont know if thats taken effect yet0 -
We went on a flight to Nice last year with BMI and had 2 x light weight kids surf boards. We had to book in then go to the outsize luggage area at Heathrow where they booked them in at no extra charge.
The only hassle was we were in the queue behind an orchestra!!!
Make sure you have lots of time...
We had no problem collecting them at Nice. At Nice on the return leg they just chucked them in with everything else!
I'm not sure what the specific policy but loads of people were booking all sorts of things without too much hassle.0
