Has anyone else heard about the spotlight book? They're selling them at my son's school and the discounts you can get inside have been good value so far - 2 for 1 pizzas, free cinema, 20-25% off at places like Palio, Zapatas etc (yummy!). I've definitely already got my money back (cost £10) and am thinking about buying another one (there goes new year diet!) as the school keeps £5 for each book sold. Worth trying to track down a copy if you are in the area.

Good point - that's more useful! Thanks for the website. It has the places you can get the book from too - all the schools using it to raise money.

We have now saved over £150 on things we would have spent anyway - been getting the whole family's Friday night takeaway for a tenner, had 20% off at Sankeys and at Palio for birthdays, 2 for 1 coffees at Ismail, free coffee at Bean. half price at Continental Flavour (little cafe opp station), free entry for whole family to kids' film at Odeon and saved half the price of our first month's gym membership plus no joining fee so saved about £75 at the gym alone - my wobbly bits are needing it after all the good food!

I'm normally really suspicious of these schemes in terms of excessive restrictions or businesses actually honouring them but this is well worth it. So much easier having them all in one place than scouring the net everytime.The only issue is getting one if you don't have kids in the local schools but ask parents and they'll know about it. And when you find somewhere selling them buy several and give to your friends - I want everyone to buy one so they definitely do it again next year!!!
