Debt Management plans

Hi there,

PLease can someone tell me if these companies are as legit as they say they are!!

I have been offered a Debt management plan through Bains and Ernst!!

I just wanted to know has anyone else ever used them? Are they any good? Or is there any better alternative!

I'm worried as I have seen so many programs where people have been paying to companies like these only to find that none of their creditor have actually been paid!!!

Can anyone give me advice?

Cheers

    Hi

they will take your first months (or two months) offering and about 17.5% of eery other payment.

You can do the same thing for free through one of the debt charities listed here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/debt-help-plan#help

That way your money goes to your creditors not to B&E's profit line.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

In my experience, Bains & Ernst were an unorganised waste of time & money. Avoid them if at all possible.

Try specialists such as CCCS, CAB etc who will do just as good a job

I would recommend CCCS - I have just (Nov 2008) finished paying my DMP with them & they were very helpful all the way and ALL the money you pay to them goes to pay off your debts and not to make them a profit.

    All the best :D
  • Many thanks for the advice!! Much apprechiated!! :j
