Stuck in a rut

Hi
I am currently unemployed on jobseekers allowance, so went to CAB today sat there for 2 hours there was nothing they could do there and then got an appointment booked for 5 March. Rung HSBC to see if they could do anything for me after half an hour on the phone they cannot do anything for me. Really worried now bout paying my debts and buying food on 50quid a week. Is there anywhere else I can get help from? Thanks

    Hi nat

I advised you here what you should do re your debts.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional

Do you think they will take more notice if I put it in writing, I just thought I would ring them and get a faster response. The CAB advised me to ring them.

Ignore the CABs advice, you should only ever communicate in writing with these muppets.

Write to them enclosing the letter I posted, what they're asking for is neither here nor there, you pay what you can afford.

They'd take your last meal of the table if they could

    Hi Nat

I'm trying to work out how this thread is different from your other one

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1477945

Are you saying that you don't want to stick with the CAB? Of course there are other organisations but I'd say 'give the CAB a chance' even if that advice to phone your creditors was not good!

In the meantime do NOT pay your non-priority debts (think I said that in the other thread) but Do pay what you can to rent/mortgage if you have anything left over after food.

I gave you quite a list - you did see it?
