Reclaiming from lost account!

Not sure if that is the right title, but i would like to know if anyone knows whether i should try to claim any money back from a regular savings account.
Possibly life insurance plan. i think it was a 10 year saving plan with Norwich Union, i took this plan out whilst i shared a flat with a friend 20 years ago ,the thing is i only paid in possibly £40 to £60 as he collected monthly or weekly from the door .
We both had an account but we fell out ,so i moved out and that was the end of that.
I know a long time has passed and i have no idea what i paid in but suspect very little as i said above.
Should i forget about it as ive always thought, or do you think i should try and get it back or maybe it is worthless as i stopped paying.
Thanks for any advice.
