success with self negotiation?

i have been advised to seek smaller repayments with my creditors with self negotiation through national debtline and wondered what the success rate was with any of you that have also taken this route. besides the hopeful freezing of interest and charges how much else were you able to shave off original amount that was owed?
am so close to finally sorting out this mess i can almost taste it???

I've been doing a self-managed dmp for just over 2 years and use National Debtline for advice/support. I have agreements with all of my creditors i.e. they have accepted pro-rata payments and have frozen interest & charges.
Not sure what you mean by "shaving off original amount" - no-one has offered me a reduced settlement figure and I'm not in a position at the moment to offer anyone a f&f payment.
