Dinner out on Wednesday night?

The OH and are celebrating a bit of an anniversary on Wednesday 11th and we want to go out for dinner ... but, as usual, we can't decide where to go! We'll eat just about anything.
The requirements are:
1. Good food, not tiny portions, nice atmosphere, not too crowded;
2. City centre / East / South Belfast;
3. Not too pricey, something mid-range - credit crunch and all that.
To give you an idea we've been to Harbour View (loved it but expensive), weren't impressed at all by Bourbon or The Cloth Ear, loved Ginger but felt the portions were a little too small for the high prices, Molly's Yard was good but expensive. We've thought about Beatrice Kennedy's and Nick's Warehouse as the menus look fantastic and we've heard good reports but we're looking for something a wee bit cheaper.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Personally, I love Ginger but you've tried there before.
How about :
27 Talbot street - http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/community-telegraph/entertainment/dining-out/restaurant-of-the-week-13890581.html
Hill street brasserie http://www.hillstbrasserie.com/
Beatrice Kennedys - http://www.beatricekennedy.co.uk/
Mourne seafood bar -http://www.mourneseafood.com/
Tedfords - http://www.tedfordsrestaurant.com/
All of these would score highly on my list. I know you said Kennedy's is a bit on the expensive side but it really is good. Also, Tedfords has a pre theatre menu which is just a slimmed down version of their evening menu and is very good value, I think its 20 quid for a 3 courses but you might want to double check that.0 -
Beatrice Kennedys is lovely, very different as well0

Have you thought about Benedicts? They do beat the clock! Food is lovely too.
Another place I love is Tony Romas (yum!)Norn Iron club member - 2650 -
Try Made in Belfast in City Centre
Nick Warehouse is good, but can be crowded.0 -
What about Zen?
We had a lovely meal there a couple of weeks ago and at quite reasonable price too!0 -
I took 3 friends out to dinner at James Street South recently and we all loved it. Price was £180 for 4 people (pre dinner drinks, 3 courses and 2 bottles of wine)0

I would definitely recommend OLIO, in Blackstaff Square, Best food and big portions in all of Belfast! Very central and not expensive.
Biggest portions has got to be Tony Roma's but not the most reomantic of places!Norn Iron Member 3830 -
Aldens. They do a midweek set menu - 2 courses £18 or 3 courses for £22. Sample menu here http://www.aldensrestaurant.com/menu_midweek.htm0

Made in Belfast = overpriced 'posh' fish finger sandwiches and useless staff who are more interested in their own reflections and gossiping than serving customers (definitely hired for their looks rather than their ability). Very poor. Won't be back.
Most of the other recommendations are top class.0 -
OP, hope you decided on somewhere nice and have a lovely dinner!
