Tried that - but tesco cheapest by far for my ciba vision focus toric... £105 for a year :)
Ah, but did you notice that for the £119 that OKvision charge you actually get 14 pairs rather than 12? They got them on 1 free pair with every 6 month supply (as have they with most of their contacts). However, for me I need the XR (extended range) torics, which are normally a lot more expensive.

True - makes them £3 cheaper than tesco, but havent checked delivery/etc. Can use vouchers for Tesco as well :)

Every type of lens has a cheapest place to buy. Im still (stupidly) paying 22 a month through vision express!!! Will need to investigate further and cancel VE me thinks... even after solutions and checkups its cheaper...

I just got 3 months of Focus Dailies for £46 delivered. Ordered at 3pm and they arrived the next day.

I used a voucher that is going around (£10 voucher). PM me for details.

  • Hi
My friend wears hard lenses and is very astigmatic (sp?). She's been wearing the same pair for more than 10 years and swears she can't afford another although I thought they would have got cheaper over the years? What would these lenses be called so that I can take a look for her? Anyone else get these at bargain rates?
    Cheers.

They are probably RGP (rigid gas permeable). Mine also last for ages but need to be changed when prescription changes. Although they are a large expense initially, I reckon you get really good value for money overall. One pair of lenses from Optician costing around £80 would last for an average of three years, therefore about 50p per week........I think!! I have looked for alternative ways of buying them cheaper but have so far failed.
The quality has improved and the increased gas permeability has made them even safer for use and the Ophthalmic Surgeon I saw a couple of weeks ago gave them his nod of approval.
  • Cheers for the info. Yeah, she thought £100 so not so much cheaper now (though considering inflation not bad...). She is saving hard at the moment, and hopefully will splash out some time before her 2nd decade wearing those lenses is up!
