Unfortunately this demonstrates the lack of training in some Job centres.
When I was claiming JSA I nearly had my benefit suspended twice due to misinformation by Job centre staff!
Therefore I always looked up what staff tell me on the Job Centre website, especially when they tell me I am not eligible for something.
I have had to bring in a print out of a page on the website to prove I was entitled to some funding for a course and satisfied the criteria when the member of staff informed me such funding did not exist
