Just been in my garage to get veg for dinner tonight. I keep them in an old chest of drawers, until now that is - my carrots have been eaten and there are little mouse droppings everywhere! Threw all the veg away.( With my trousers tucked in my socks in case little monsters run up my leg! and my rubber gloves on). I can store the veg in the kitchen from now on but will not have room for my big sacks of potatoes that I get from the farm shop. Does any one have any suggestions as to what I can keep my potatoes in so they dont get eaten? Dont want to go back to buying little bags form supermarket as they are so expensive and just sprout too quick in the house.

Potatos need to be kept in cool, dry, dark conditions. Maybe buy a bin to keep in the garage, and put the bag of spuds in there?0

I'd buy a plastic dustbin, they're about £5 from Wilko'sOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

would it have to be metal or would plastic do? can you still buy the old fashioned metal dustbins?0

Personally I'd get one of the plastic ones, potatoes benefit from being kept in the dark and I used to work in the warehouse there, the lids for them fit very tightly and will keep anything out.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Thank you for the quick replies. Will pop into town and buy a plastic bin for the spuds. Shame I had to waste the other veggies. Bet I wont sleep tonight. We live in a bungalow and I will probably keep seeing imaginary mice now! thanks again x0

Plastic or metal dustbin as said. However if you buy a plastic one, I'd be inclined to put something on the lid to weigh it down0
