Struggling sports retailer JJB has applied to place two of its subsidiaries into administration after failing to find buyers for them.
Footwear stores Original Shoe Company (OSC) and Qube have suffered from poor sales and have been trading at a loss.
The two chains' 77 stores will continue to trade as normal. Together, they employ over 800 people. Earlier on Tuesday, JJB said it had received a number of indications of interest for its fitness club division.

Nobody seems to like JJB much. They were just about at bottom of the Consumers' Association annual survey for customer satisfaction with retailers.
I know these are subsidiaries, but I wouldn't be surprised to see JJB itself become another casualty.0 -
Hope the fitness clubs survive. I pay £26 a month for off peak which I consider value for money. Thankfully I pay monthly and didn`t pay upfront.0

I once went to a JJB sports shop and found that they didn't stock Ron Hills (tracksuit bottoms). How they can describe themselves as a sports shop, I don't know.Happy chappy0
