Advice on credit card debt please

Hi i'm a newbie looking for a bit of advice.

Myself and my husband have a some credit card debts and overdrafts which we are struggling to repay. With regards to the credit cards I have contacted the companies individually and they have stopped the interest on the cards and agreed that we can repay a lower amount and they will review this every 6 mths, whereas the overdrafts get repaid when our wages go in but by the end of the month are back up to the limit.

I spoke to Abbey today to make my agreed payment and they have said as the agreement has been in place for over 6 months they have written it off anf have passed it to a debt collection agency who will contact me in the next month. I just really wanted to find out what will happen when the debt collection agency contact me as I thought that the agreement with Abbey would stand until the card was cleared. Will they now agree lower payments with themselves or take us to court?

Also I was wondering if it might be worth contacting CCCS as although our credit cards are being paid at lower agreed rates we are not actually clearing any of our overdraft.

Any advice or ideas would be gratefully received.

Thanks :)

It would be a good idea to contact CCCS or another debt charitiy and get help in your situation.
