25 Free Music Downloads!

Options
eMusic are offering a 14 day free trial with 25 free music downloads. The music can be put into any music library and can be played on itunes/ipods too!

Just open an account (it will ask for card details), install the software (2 minute dowload and restart), and download 25 tracks for free! Then simply cancel online in two clicks. You can unistall the sofware too if want which takes less than a minute to do.

They are mainly independent artists (so relatively unknown), but I used it for New Age tracks to fall asleep/relax too, of which they had loads of.

Personally i would be extremely wary of emusic. whilst the 25 free downloads might seem a great deal, they are notorious for not cancelling your account when you request it and then subsequently charging you a fortune for membership you didn't want. As well as various other underhanded tricks to make you pay.

My own experience of their service was far from happy. I applied for one of their original 25 free downloads when they first started, wasn't that impressed so cancelled.

A year or two later, having forgotten all about the original free trial I registered again and was happily accepted for the free downloads. again I cancelled, and then three months later discovered that whilst they'd cancelled the most recent account, they had reactivated the original and charged my credit card for the year between the original cancellation and then subsequent registration, because my address etc matched!!! I'd used a different card on the original registration, but that didn't deter them from linking the accounts - without telling me - and I had to send several emails and make several calls before they finally refunded the money.

    Who/how did you call?

I've been after their details for ages!
  • If you go through TopCashBack, you can get £10 as well as the 25 free tracks. I did, and I had no problems cancelling the account. Best way to do things - find the music, then sign up, then download, then cancel - all in the same day. Gives you the rest of the trial period to make sure it's properly cancelled.

No way! same thing happened to me- I KNOW I cancelled, next thing I know, £143.90 gone from my account! Ouch! and yes that hurt in terms of bank charges.

If you go to the site, you can get a number for their site, and they then give you the number of the actual company in the US, thats how I got the number anyway, the number for then is 0845 410 4104 and you can call then "9-9pm WST" which translates to 2pm to 2am GMT.
