Money from Romania

Hello,

A contractor who owes me money from a previous job is apparently waiting for money from the sale of a house in Romania. The money has cleared whatever procedures it has to over there and he says he is waiting for it to land [as he calls it] in his account over here. This money has now been floating around in the ether for about 2 weeks.
Can it really take this long to reach his bank or am I being strung along.
Apparently the money has to convert from Romanian currency then to Euros and then to the Pound.
All sounds a bit dodgy to me.

Yes you may well be strung along.
A transfer from Romania if legal should take no longer than from any other European country ie 4 days max.
