Got a card in an amazon mailing says
Become a naked Wine Angel.Get paid for drinking wine.
Feel free to put your comments!
Apparently this has something to do with Virgin Wines.
Anyone think there is any benefits here?
Get paid and free should not be taken too literally methinks..?

Looks like you have to sign up and you pay taxes/charges to get the 'free' bottles of wine.
Still, 6 bottles of wine for under £10 in most cases, is a pretty nifty find! :beer:If it's free and I can eat it, I'll have it!0 -
I had one of these from Amazon too, it seemed like a good deal on the face of it, but after reading more carefully I decided that the tax and postage etc of £2.64 per bottle seemed a bit steep. I guess it would depend totally on the actual value of the wine you were getting. Maybe someone can post if they have actually bought wine from Wine Angel and what it was worth v's what they paid.0

Let's see.
1. The bloke in the main photo looks like a berk.
2. "Giving away" something "free" is somewhat tautologous, however...
3. The wines are not being 'given away free' as you have to pay 'tax' and delivery. Paying for something != getting it for free.
4. Any website which includes the word 'Naked' in its title is automatically lame and untrustworthy. See Fat Tongue, endless tiresome programmes on BBC3 and C5 etc.
4. "Win Free Wine". As opposed to what? "Win Wine You Then Have To Pay For"???
5. And I quote: Lame, lame, lame.0 -
On the card it also says:
In return, agree to pre-order more of their wines by setting aside £5 a month into your..account,yours to spend when YOU want
Wow thanks-I can spend my own money when I want..:rolleyes:0 -

The delivery charge after the free taster bottles is £4.99,you have to have 6 or 12 bottles, but it's still £4.99 whichever.0 -
OK. FACTS......
(and no, I DO NOT work for Naked Wines, before you ask!)
Wine is deemed 'free' as the winemaker is funding it. But the winemaker is only funding the wine, hence the £9.99 tax charge. plus usual £4.99 next day delivery charge.
Taking the offer makes you an 'angel' of that particular winemaker, and you're signed up to fund/lend/sponsor him/her £5 a month.
Your £5 a month can be cashed in at any time for any of that winemaker's wines. And (and here's the nifty bit) whenever you buy more of this person's wines, Naked Wines will credit your account with 33% cashback, which you can spend on more wines (from said winemaker).
You can sponsor as many winemakers you want (at £5 a month each) and when you sponsor 4 or more winemakers the 33% cashback will apply to everything on the Naked Wines site, regardless of whether or not you're supporting the winemaker.
And, yes, the wines are definitely worth more than the £2whatever you initially pay. We're talking about small, low production winemakers here, not your average mass-produced supermarket rubbish.
And 'Naked' is not 'lame'...... Jamie Oliver did alright out of it after all! d0 -
I've had a look at the site today and I think it looks ok - may even sign up myself :-)Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0
