Alliance and leicester help please

I had 2 current accounts with A&L one for bills and the other for spending money which worked out fine until I was on maternity leave and my income was split by more than half. I was getting charged for under funding and unpaid DD then for being in my overdraft, it got to the point where I had no money for food or nappies or the mortgage because of their charges.
I wrote to them on several occasions asking for help or for them to close the accounts so I could just repay the overdrafts at an agreed rate but never received any reply.

They have now closed both accounts and sent them to the collectors. I keep getting phone calls at work from someone saying they are from a&l but i tell him everytime that i cannot talk as I am at work. I wrote to the collectors asking them not to call me at work because of phone calls being recorded and that I could be put on disciplinary for receiving phone calls of this nature at work.
I also made them an offer of payment in this letter. No one has replied to my letter but the man that keeps ringing is now leaving messages on the general switchboard voice mail at work, which is very embarrassing to say the least!

Is there anyway I can get them to stop ringing when all they do is ignore my letters?

Send the following letter by recorded delivery, you MUST report them if the fail to take notice:

    Your Street
    Town
    City
    Postcode
    DATE HERE
    Company Name
    Road
    Town
    City / County
    Postcode

    Dear Sirs
    Harassment by telephone

    Account Number: XXXXXXX
I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.
I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls. (Delete if necessary)
I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.
I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.
Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company will be recorded. (**Even if you don‘t yet have recording equipment!!**)

    Yours faithfully,

  • If that fails follow my suit - ring them tell them you've moved jobs and give them a wrong number! I did this when they ignored my requests to not ring,

    I was really cheeky
Looking for solutions and hoping for a miracle!
