:cheesy: Hi my daughter and her friend (boy) are having a joint birthday party in our local hall. We was thinking of getting a entertainer but the price would be double because the time of the party is not on his 'time slots' so im looking for ideas of what we can do
. There will be about 25-30 3-4 year olds. The party will be in July so we have lots of time to plan, also what food do you think would be best, We were thinkin the normal sandwiches, sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, bread sticks, crisps etc. And party bags???? Thanks in advance

How about doing some simple games. Skittles, decorate a fairy cake, pass the parcel. You could do your own puppet show. Ask the local college about giving some nursery nurses practical experience. They could entertain the children.0

How about a pirates and princesses party or something?
could do themed party bags, cheap bags from asda, some kind of pirate toy / princess toy, sweets from 99p store or similiar ie 5 for 99p or whatever it is, couple of balloons in it.
food - keep it simple they will mostly go for sweets lol, ham sandwiches, cheese sandwiches, marshmallows dipped in chocolate with a smartie on top always go down well.
games - pass the parcel, musical bumps and dancing if its a 2 hour party they won't need too much entertaining and will prob just run around alot
i love kids parties, its my ds 3rd birthday today, no party just pressies and grandparents round, wish i'd done one now.

what about a bouncy castle aswell as games? We looked into this and the price was around £45 for 2 hours hire. Or maybe try some different entertainers in the local area Im sure youll be inside one of their "time slots"Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

my daughter was 4 in november, I had the party at home. We did a princess and pirate theme, those who wanted to came in fancy dress.
I covered boxes in foiled, or you could buy plain boxes and let the children decorate them in stickers (princess and pirate) and confetti.
Then they iced and decorated cakes - an extra table cloth needed for this and plastic knives. It went down a treat and i am definately doing it again next year.
Finally they made necklaces and decorated shields - I made them out of card and tin foil again. Most found the necklaces quite difficult so I don't think I would do this again.
I added a fortune fish to the box (99p for 12) a lolly each left over from halloween, the girls had a hair band (wilkos do sets for a pound) then I put the cakes they made in the boxes. So most of the party bag was things they had made and very little plasticy toys.
For food I did sandwiches (tuna, cheese, egg and ham), tesco value crisps, cucumber and carrots sticks with dip, chunks of cheese. Then afterwards I got out tesco value jaffa cakes and home made cakes.
Some of the children got up through the activities to play with what they had made but it was fine, they all seemed to really enjoy it.
I was worried about doing pass the parcel with some of them as some were younger than 4, but will do it for her 5th. Its a classic
