  • As far as I am aware you would have to transfer cash to a current account and pay off that way. Although you would save c2-3% interest per annum you would move from a loan that is only repayable while income is >£15k per annum to one that is repayable regardless of income and will attract high interest charges unless you move this balance at the end of the 0% period.

    You could instead borrow at 0%, put the money in a savings account earning 4-5% interest before tax and overpay on the student loan as and when you can.
