Dealing with my Debts

Hi guys,

ive read numerous posts on here and seek some advice please:

i have several credit cards and 2 unsecured loans all taken out before april 2007.

i have unfortunately been unemployed for some time and injured. Since july 2008 i have written to all my debtors repeatedly explaining my situation and offering between £5 and £10 per month until i get out of my situation. none accepted or even responded.

Now they have placed defaults and some have been passed to debt collection agencies. I sent settlement offers and requests to which one replied and knocked 70% off!!! the other agreed to £5 monthly payments for 6 months then a review.

Now all the others have replied saying my settlement offers are unacceptable and unless i make sensible repayment they will take me to court blah blah blah.....

Now at this stage i dont know whether i should request CCA and possibly aggravate the situation. To be honest the calls dont bother me! i have nothign to hide and im not running away! im trying to pay these debts but the letters are getting worse and well i dont want to go to court or be made bankrupt as i have a property thats rented out(no equity in it though!)

i also have several letters i found on here about the 12+2+30 rule and some others in relation to default in dispute.

I dont know whether to just wait and see if they try to take me to court and THEN ask for CCA or do it now???

Also im now living with my mum as well i split up with my partner. my mum doesnt want any post coming to her house (respectfully fair) and they are all going to my ex's address. i have asked them to stop sending post there and to contact me by email or phone - is this ok?? however they continue to send post there and some debt collectors have even knocked on the door and scared her! i know they cant do anything at this stage, but im just curious as to whatst the best way to resolve this.

Hi Patterns, welcome to DFW. Have you spoken with CCCS/Payplan or National Debt line? They may be to advise the best way ahead for you. If you have no income then perhaps Bankruptcy is an option; but I am not an expert on BR. Im not sure if posting an SOA would help but it may help you to see exactly how much debt you have and to whom it is owed. There is a sticky at the top of the first page that will help you with this. Keep posting. Len
