Getting dye tinge out of cotton

Options
Hi everyone,

We have white cotton pillowcases with some black decorative stitching. I dye my hair red and unfortunately some of this has transferred onto the pillow as I've slept, they've turned a light pink.

I was wondering how I could wash them to get out the pink? I was thinking a bit of bleach in the washing machine along with the detergent but I'm worried they'll stink of bleach then? Wouldn't have any idea how much to use either!

I would appreciate any advice, thank you :):money:

  • This happened to me and I just washed them as normal and the dye came out. If you are worried about putting them in with precious things that might dye just do them with towels (I did) on a normal wash cycle with normal amount of soap powder etc.
    Good luck,
    MrsB.
