Vivien of Holloway have great 50's style dresses from £50 up. You can order online and thry have good guidance on getting the right size.

Not strictly 'prom' but I reckon they would be great with a full net petticoat underneath. They have a gallery showing how different people have worn them

I got mine made for me, I chose a design from a magazine, bought the material myself & found a lady locally to make it for me in total cost £50! Plus I knew nobody else was gonna have one like mine at Prom!

You might get your DDs to ask at school. Our local prom dress shops offer shopping evenings and discounts to our year 11s. Get them to ask the head of year - they probably know ehere the good ones were from over the last few years.

    Have you ordered the limos.......

It depends how much you want to spend but there are some super dresses here http://www.beflirtydresses.com/acatalog/Sheath-Prom-Dress.html
  • I live in Somerset and in the Clarks Outlet village at the Roman Originals Shop they were selling ballgowns for £30.00 Some were a little old but there were some lovely ones also. Dont know how many stores there are elsewhere but the online shop doesnt really do the shop justice

I got my graduation ball dress from TK Maxx, it was some American designer that i had seen on the net.

i got it for £45 and no one else had it on the night, it was a gorgeous green strapless with a glitter type beads sewed on it. Since the night my mum threw it in a pillowcase in the washer and it washed just fine!
