in Cutting tax
Hi,
Im new to this site.... I currently work earning 16k a year and i am looking at getting a second job in the evening at a local supermarket... Would be earning about 6k a year from that.
Thing is iv heard id start paying silly tax if i did get the other job? Would it be worthwhile me doing this? How much tax would I pay from the jobs?
Any help would be greatly appreciated....
Many Thanks:j

Proportionately you would be paying more tax on your second job as your personal tax allowance would not apply. You do not end up paying more tax overall but that lack of a personal allowance on your second job will make it seem like you are.
This gives some more information:

You will pay 20% tax on your second job... plus some NI which is 11% on money over 105 per week (or 453 per month).0
