1000 clubcard points for doing nothing

Hi all, bit of a weird one here.
Just got my clubcard statement with vouchers, and found i have more than double my normal amount. On closer inspection, this is because 1000 were 'earned' through TPF (tesco personal finance).

I dont think i've ever used TPF, so got a bit worried. Just checked credit expert, and i have no unusual activity (no recent searches or new accounts, thank god!), but i am still a bit worried.
Has anyone else ever got this before? Any idea what i should do, if anything.

Do you have a partner who has signed up for a tesco credit card as the 1000 points may have been like an offer eg sign up for a credit card and gete 1000 points, unless its a mistake

I was thinking something like that, but my OH couldnt get a Vanquis card! Maybe just a mistake. If i phone up clubcard, and it is a mistake, will do you think they revoke the points?

Guess i'll just keep an eye on my credit file, or spent the points and then ask!

Did you happen to have £50,000 in their savings account last November ? That would give you 1000 points.

sometimes credit searches take a while to show, and may only show on one of the credit reference agencies...i would keep an eye out as if you have not authorised the search it is a bit odd that they would do one on you (and worth complaining about). that said, it sounds more like a genuine mistake - perhaps someone with a similar name or next to you alphabetically joined TPF. I would not worry too much - I suspect that if someone else was supposed to receive them, they will call Tesco's independently and it highly unlikely that they will look at your account in the process or reduce your points unless you alert them...if you are really worried you could always redeem them though?
