They can be funny, as they believe any surplus funds should go pro-rota, however, what's done is done, give thema call and find out.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional
  • thanks, to complicate things !!!!!! is totally done deal, as I have had verbal confirmation but not written, with the approrpiate wording which I need prior to paying

I may a payment to CCCS on 1st Feb and they pay creditors on I think 25th.....

dont know whether to call them today and try to stop them paying.....
  • sorry - is NOT a total done deal...

I think you should call them asap - they might have an agreement with the creditors that money goes pro rata, so from their point of view you are breaking the agreement. You could also try the ask a cccs counsellor thread at the top of the board.
  • thanks twyl.

I think the issue is exactly as you suggest....they have an agreement that any lump sum funds I come into are spread evenly - i am going a different route and giving it all to a creditor who is letting me off 65% of a debt....

cant decide, whether to wait until sorted - take a hit on feb payment to creditor and then plead ignorance

or tell them now and risk them getting involved and ceasing !!!!!!

If the monies were 'a gift from a Family Member' you will have no problem.

Its your debt, after all. CCCS provide a framework, that doesnt stop us trying our hardest to get a creditor to accept a ridiculously low Final Payment, or to prove a debt unenforceable.

If you get rid of one, the remaining monthly payment can be used to increase each of the others share.
