Cant Take This AnyMore

OH and I are totally and utterly in the brown stuff finanically, and TBH its really starting to get to me big time. I currently owe about 5-6K and the OH owes 21k ( plus the mortgage ) its a stupid amount on money, for people of our ages to owe ( 25 and 36 )

Most of my debt is being managed through Gregory Pennington, I know they have a bad rep, but im getting there. I have a few that arent with them ( business debt ) and trying to arrange a payment plan with them is just impossible. They want their money and they want it now, they dont seem to understand that they cant have what I dont have, but if they let me do it in stages they will get their money...what is it with these people

I hate this useless feeling, and not being able to do the things that we want to do because of our financial position. We want to have kids, but right now I dont see how it would be fair to bring a baby into a situation where we just couldnt afford to provide for him or her.

Please I need advice, Im desperately needing help and advice for clearing this debt and regaining control of our lives

Claire

  • Hi Claire,
Have you tried talking to someone like CAB? I don't know anything about Gregory Pennington, so can't offer anything on that.
I know it is a horrible feeling when peeps want more than you have. But that's the crux of it, if you haven't got it they can't have it. Even if it went to court, you would always be left with enough to live on. I am not an expert like some people on here, so hopefully someone will come along with more to offer.

I really think you should talk to one of the debt charities, personally I recommend CCCS, at the moment you are paying GP each month for what the debt charities will do for nothing! You will get debt free much quicker if yu dump GP. at the very least have a chat with CCCS, you will not be held to anything if you decide you dont want to go with them

GP will be taking 17.5% of your payments for them selves instead of paying it to your creditors. Why no move to a free debt charity and than you can pay it off faster?

Or make the same payments to those creditors and have a bit of spare to pay the business debts?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • The CCCS have started their own thread on here

I would definately have a chat with them and has been said above get rid of GP, there are plenty of charities who do a DMP for nothing.

  • Okay...I will give them a call...what do I need to have to call them?

the big problem I have had with GP, is they cant accept payments of less that £80...which sometimes I can't afford, will cccs allow lower payments?

No. Ditch them sweetie. They are taking money that could help pay your debt off quicker.
