Braehead Eating
We are going to Braehead Climbing and Sno thing on Wednesday.
Can anyone recommend anywhere nearby to eat. I appreciate that there are the usual outlets but can anyone who visits regularly recommend one which delivers good food on a regular basis? So often Franchise places are a hit or a miss.
Thought about trying Tony Romas?
There are four of us, youngest 14 so not too fussed about child menus etc.

Hi Tony Romas are fine. But many of the restaurants are doing some good deals. My friend and I went to TGI's and I think they were doing a two courses for about £8 pounds. If you don't want to eat in Xscape the shopping centre nearby has a food hall. Plenty to choose from like I say many offers on so maybe wait till you get there. Have a great day.0

I went to the Tony Roma's last year and it was poor (the food average and the service terrible) although a colleague has been and felt it was good, so that could have been a one off. I recently went to Frankie and Benny's which was better - the service was great although I still think the food is better at TGI's (where the service is also pretty good). I haven't tried any of the others so I can't comment on them.0

I've ate in most places in xcape and in my opinion Nandos is the best followed by TGIs. Nando's doesnt seem to do specials as they are generally busy, but TGI quite often has special deals on and the service was really quite good the last time I visited.
We didn't reallly enjoy the food in either Tony Roma's or Ma Potters so haven't been back. Chiquito's was a bit bland for our liking and I'd rather go play hunt-the-meat-in-the-sauce in the Chinses buffet place upstairs than return eat there.0 -
Hey! I'm in Xscape constantly and have eaten everywhere! lol twice!
TGI's - always pretty slow and have been ignored by waiting staff while waiting to be seated etc, have mixed up my order a few times, but food is nice and big portions. Plus - the BEST cocktails!
Nandos - a firm favourite, staff are always lovely, happy to talk to you, seated almost immediately when walking in, food always very quick and fresh.
Frankie and Bennys - Food is horrible, staff are slow, not a good atmosphere in my honest opinion.
Chiquitos - Don't really like the menu and waitresses/waiters have been slow when I have been in.
Ma Potters - Typical chain pub type place, food in general ok, waiting time ok, nothing special to write home about.
Tony Romas - Love it in here, staff always really helpful - (helped me organise a birthday night out one night), food delicious and big portions. Had a bit of a problem with my meal one time and they couldn't do enough to help.
China Buffet King - well, it's a buffet, what can I say? lol...they always seem to sit you right next to the skiiers though and it puts me off my food!
Pizza Express - Didn;t really like it in here, felt 'empty' and has been empty most times I've walked past since. Service quite fast, but was pricey for what it was.
hth!
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
I would make another vote for Nando's!
China Buffet is fine - but can be a wee bit 'samey' depending on when you go -BTW my kids love being next to the skiing!0 -

Thanks for all the replies.
My youngest turned his nose up at Nandos....all there is is 'chicken'! With which I would have been more than happy with but he is always the stumbling block.
We ended up at TGI Fridays. Service was fine. Food nothing to write home about but did the trick!
Mega, mega disappointed with the Ice Slide at the Snozone. Apart from being extremely short, in our opinon it was dangerous. OH hurt shoulder on second shot and we walked off after third. The slide is lucky if it is 30 yards long, although duty manager stated it was 45 meters, and your whole body is 'jarred' at the end as you slide into five rubber 'bolster' things. You certainly can't race as suggested on their site and there are no curves as shown in the online photo!:j0 -
