Big bridal shops in Newcastle?

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a bridal shop with LOTS of choice from the 'main' designers (cough*landy*cough) in Newcastle city centre? Like a wedding dress superstore or something? :rotfl:
Thank you

Hi there,
I think we're quite limited 'up here'....in the city centre there's Berketex, Pronuptia, Wedding Essentials (lots of lovely designer top end dresses).
I'm going to go to the wedding place at Blagdon too - its pretty big from memory (my sis bought hers from there a few years back)
Ooooh - found the link - its changed hands since I was last there...sure it was called the Wedding Warehouse or something!

There's another place in Prudhoe http://www.whitetulipweddings.co.uk/ - not sure how big this is.
Hope this helps - let me know how you get on as I'm considering the 'Landy' route too (am a bit scared though!!)

Oh, me too. I'm just outside Durham
Venue hunting now, with expected date for early next year. I'm back on "the diet", so not quite sure when to start trying stuff on. Fairly sure I'm going down the landy route once I know what neckline, style etc suits me. Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
There's also a couple of shops in the metro centre too
just next to costa If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!0 -

Thank you all
I think I will definitely go to Wedding Essentials as they're in the town centre, and the Metro too. Hopefully then I can come to a definite decision! Currently have Maggie Sottero's Adelaide as favourite

I recommend Emily Jane Bridal in Shiremoor, NE27.
I bought my first dress there (I've ordered another one from Landy as I've gained weight due to illness - boo!) and she is lovely. It's a small place but she has new and nearly new styles at good prices (I think I paid £450 for mine - a stunning silver/gothic/Grace Kelly style) so it's worth having a look to see what she's got in stock.
She also recommended a dressmaker in Whitley Bay, but I'm stuffed if I can find the phone number! LOL
Have you checked out the bridal sections in BHS and Debenhams btw - simple dresses but good value.
Have fun looking!0 -
Oh - local bride to be's!!!
Don't know if it helps but there is a bridal fayre on at National Glass Centre at Sunderland Feb 22nd 12-4

Another one to add to the list is The Bridal Studio in Blyth.
The women are lovely and friendly, there's loads of room in the changing rooms and natural light (which isn't always the case).BSC Member 59 - AD 29th March 2008
