we want to move to cornwall but advice needed?

sorry if this in the wrong place.
me and my partner currently live london with our son and my two children from previous relationships.
my eldest sons father is causing trouble for us here in london and making life very stressfull.
my partner has family who live in cornwall.
we would like to move to cornwall as we need a fresh start and we would also have support, which we dont have here as we are totally isolated.
we want to move as soon as possible but would like some advice on the best way to do this.
one way would be to privately rent- we would need money for a deposit which could be a bit of a sruggle at the moment
the other way being going on the list with cornwall council- but were not sure how this would work because we live in london and would be homeless if we give up this house and just move to cornwall.

please can someone give us some advice on the best and less stressfull way to do this

So you are currently renting? If OH has family in Cornwall is there anyway you could move in with them for a short while til you are sorted? At the same time, you could put your name on the council list.

sorry we are currently in a council property.
his family hasnt really got the room for us and if they did agree we dont know how long it would be before we get a place.
my son has adhd so we wont to make this a stressless as we can for him

Have a google search, just put in Council property exchange it brings up lots of sites where people are advertising for an exchange. You dont live in Tower Hamlets do you? On this site, someone with a 2 bed in cornwall wants to exchange for a 2 bed there
