Philips gold scart leads in Asda - possible misprice?

Options
I bought a Philips 1.5m gold plated scart lead in Asda Huyton last summer for £3.84. Good bargain and it works very well btw.

I went to pick up two more in Asda St. Helens on Friday night but found they were suddenly priced at £5.88 in this particular store so didn't buy any.

I checked on their website the same night and found that they were less than half the above price - an amazing £2.84, reduced from low and behold £3.84.

The website has since sold out sometime over the weekend but when they had them instock on Friday there was a notice next to the price explaining that the discount was based on the selling price at "Asda Stores Ltd" and wasn't based on a previous online selling price.

To me this suggests that they should still be at least £3.84 in the shops aswell but my dad checked the Huyton store this morning and they're also selling them for £5.88 now.

Can anyone explain what's going on here should they be £5.88 or £3.84 instore?
