Five Weeks To Go!

I have five weeks to go till I go bankrupt (all going well) beginning to feel stressed out a little:huh: just wondering what I should do about my bank account as I have read that they freeze your bank account when you go bankrupt. I have only had my account with Lloyds TSB since April last year and I opened my account with Lloyds TSB as I was going through the IVA, previously I had been with Barclays. Is it possible that they will just let me keep the Lloyds account as I do not have a O/D or any debts with Lloyds TSB? Or should I look for a new account now? Another thing that has me worried is that part of my IVA (that has now failed) was to not get credit on anything, However when it came to renewing my car insurance this month, I never had the full £616 to pay it in full (as I am scrapping together the £500 to go bankrupt!) so I paid the deposit of £126 and opted to pay ten more instalments through the year. I have now been sent this credit agreement for the ten instalments on my car insurance, will this be allowed on my bankruptcy?

Hi sostupid. I would open a Coop cashminder account as it is very unlikely Lloyds will allow you to keep that account open. It is easy to open by phone (I'd opt for phone rather than opening it online as it is quicker).

Regarding your car insurance - if your car is exempt and you get to keep it then the payments should be just fine. If you aren't allowed to keep the car then the agreement can go into your BR.

    :j :j

  • Hiya!

The telephone number you need to open a Cashminder account through the Co-Op is 0845 602 7057.
