Hi Glam Jan.
You need to talk to one of the debt charities about the IVA/BR thing.
Before you do that, you need to know about the Statement of Affairs (or SOA). If you can fill one out you will have a much easier time talking to people about your situation.
There is a form you can fill out online that you can save and then go back to. I have been back to mine lots of times. It's something I get better at with practice (and self honesty).

Good to see you getting the hang of this posting lark. :T
I went to see my 93 year old Nan in hospital today. I know what you mean about a cracked jaw... Bankruptcy used to be on a par with prison (or worse). It's a good job it has changed a bit in the real world.. But then again, so has the sheer amount of people who have been encouraged to take on massive debt. Your Mum and my Nan don't see that and (although i'm generally an honest person) I think it is better it stays that way.
All the best.

go to www.cccs.co.uk and complete there debt remedy on line, they will give you a solution to your debt and it may say BR is the best for you. You could also speak to any of the available debt charities which will also advise you on your debt.
You do not have to do an IVA you can go straight for BR but one of the charities will have to reccomend this first
hope this helps0
