Do you tick the yes option on comps?

I just wondered if anyone here ticks the yes options on comps when they say "Please tick if you would/would not like further information". I always opt out of the further info in fear of having an inbox full of c**p. But do you think it makes a difference to whether or not you will win? Is there anyone out there with inside info on this?

I think that is a really interesting question. While i don't claim to enter many competitions i always opt out and haven't had so much as a sniff.
I also wonder about location, after reading an article about a promotions company that had been instructed ONLY to select winners from major towns and cities.
It would be great to get an insiders view. While we all recognise that the companies concerned only run competitions to promote their product and/or create a database for to market further or sell on, it would be nice to know that we have as much chance as anyone else.0 -
I can only vouch for my ex-company (a spread-betting firm).
All the comps we ran were totally above board and we never took any preferences into account.
The potential bad publicity if a disgruntled employee leaked info about rigged draws would be way too damaging.Debt in 1993: £35,000 | Debt in 2006: £0 | Assets in 2006: £2.3m and counting. :j

There is no upper, middle or lower class. Simply those that have class and those that don't.

I always opt in for further info and generally don't get any junk mail.
Also if you enter comps on Booze websites you often get money off vouchers through the post too eg: £5 Glenfidditch voucher.

I did win a holiday to Las Vegas from the AOL homepage.
And of course the Smirnoff txt comps but other than that no, but I still keep trying, you've got to be in it to win it.

Easy way to not worry about junk mail is to set up an email just for comps.
That way you can tick away to your hearts content and not worry!!
Don't forget the easier the comp the harder it is to win!COMPERKING

I have also considered this about ticking or unticking
But all the comps ive won so far i have unticked and always do.
But what iratates me is when on forms to fill in sometimes the opting in or out buttons are way below the submit button

Do members enter their house phone number or mobile number when entering comps,or does it not make a difference.0
