Worried about OH debts aswell as mine!!

have been working really hard at getting my debts cleared, and reckon in 9 weeks time will have cleared my loan and can start saving!! was all feeling quite sorted and was huge weight off.
Now last night OH was discussing his money situation with his flatmate, and after rent and bills he only has about £20 a week to live off and that doesnt include money for anything unexpected, or payments to his £500 credit card debt!!
I can see he is going to be getting deeper into debt and im going to be paying for more thing like meals, films etc, when im only just getting sorted myself and dont want all my money to be paying off his problems!!!
relly stressed today by this situation, hardly slept,
what can i do, any advice???
£5000 debt cleared thanks to MSE advice :money:

Have you tried sitting down with him, telling him how you've managed and asking gently if he's like help getting on the right path? Don't forget the old tru-ism 'You can lead a horse etc', so you must make it clear you can't do it for him. I think you could also do with making it clear that you have spent so long sorting yourself out you're not about to support his spending habit as well!
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500
  • A really supportive thing would be to suggest you do things together that don't cost so much while he gets himself sorted.

Afterglow - dont mind me, but just a few questions to ask before I feel I can answer properly (I like to get as much of the full story first :) )

How long have you been together?
    Do you live together?
How much do you both earn seperatly?
99.9% of my posts include sarcasm!
